Managing Stress Seminar

Overview:

Are you aware of what causes you stress at work? Unfortunately, stress is an unavoidable fact of life in the 21st Century and can cause much unhappiness and affect performance at work.

‘An estimated 12.8 million working days were lost in 2004/05 through stress, depression or anxiety caused or made worse by work’ – Self-reported Work-Related Illness in 2004/05:Labour Force Survey.

Objectives:

By the end of this seminar, delegates will understand a little more about:

  • What is stress & why do we react to a stress stimulus (Stress identification, why we react to a stressful situation and how it impacts physically, mentally and emotionally)
  • The effects of stress on the individual (How personality types are affected in different ways and behavioural patterns)
  • How to recognise stress in yourself (What to look for in signs and symptoms in yourself - physically, mentally and emotionally)
  • Life style and Stress Management (Examining your life style in relation to work, home, diet, exercise, and relaxation and remedial action you can take after this event to cope with stress in your life)

Topics covered:

The breakfast seminar will identify and recognise different types of stress.  It will also explore techniques to manage problems and challenges without stress.

Delivering this topic will be one of freshbaked Corporate’s Key Associates – Duncan John, who has extensive experience in this field.
