freshbaked collar Shane Williams
freshbaked staff got a bit hot under the collar recently when Grand Slam player of the tournament Shane Williams popped in for some promotional activity in the lead up to this year’s Adult Learners’ Week.
As proud sponsor of this year’s event freshbaked, through its sister company Total Sport Management (TSM), organised for Shane to front the campaign which showcases the diverse range of opportunities that exist for people who want to get back into learning.
Working alongside NIACE Dysgu Cymru, the body charged by the Welsh Assembly Government to promote adult learning, freshbaked was keen to get involved in this week of fun, informative and interactive events.
As a training provider, freshbaked recognises the importance of lifelong learning and consequently all staff who work for the Group have a comprehensive continued professional development plan which is regularly reviewed.
Says Group Managing Director, Richard Matthews: “If businesses invest in continuous learning it can not only boost the individual organisation who benefit from having skilled workers but it can also boost the economy as a whole.
“Whether you are young or old, an experienced learner or someone returning to learning after a number of years, there is always something to gain from learning a new skill.”
Adds Shane Williams: “As a professional rugby player I recognize the importance of continuous learning. When a player’s sporting career ends, if they have continued to learn their mind will still be active and they will be ready to take on new career challenges.”
Adult Learners’ Week is recognised as the UK’s largest festival of learning, and, in Wales, has become a real driver for people to get together and try their hands at a new skill or learning opportunity.
