Lean appointments to freshbaked Business

Lean appointments to freshbaked Business

Business improvement specialists, freshbaked™ Business, have made two new appointments to strengthen its growing operation in Wales.

The Cardiff-based company, which is part of the freshbaked™ Group, has recruited Andrew Hearne, 44, as business improvement practitioner and Alyn Evans, 47, as business improvement assessor.

A qualified mechanical engineer, Andrew, from Porthcawl, joins with extensive experience in the engineering and automotive sectors.

Helping organisations to improve performance, productivity and procedures, Andrew will be responsible for delivering Vocationally Related Qualifications (VRQ) in business improvement techniques (BIT).

Alyn, from Blaina, who joins from training provider A4E, also has a wealth of experience in the engineering sector.

Alyn will be responsible for assessing the BIT techniques the team has delivered to ensure the skills taught are being maintained and implemented in the workplace.

Delivering lean enterprise and six sigma techniques to significantly reduce the unnecessary time, effort and errors made within organisations from various sectors, freshbaked™ Business is witnessing a huge demand for its services as one of the pioneers of the BIT qualification in the UK.

Says managing director, Steve Allcock: “The manufacturing sector in the UK has faced a tough climate in recent years due to productivity gap that exists within the industry. As such, many organisations are beginning to recognise the benefits of BIT in tackling this problem and uptake in our workshops has soared. We help organisations, through lean and six sigma methodologies, to reduce costs and improve productivity by applying world-class tools and techniques in all aspects of the manufacturing process through focused project management.

“Andrew and Alyn’s appointments come at an important time for us as we continue to grow our presence in Wales and beyond. They both have a solid background in the engineering and continuous improvement fields and their experience and skills will add invaluable strength and expertise to the team.”
