Problem Solved!

Problem Solved!

Apparently staff are spending more time at work but wasting up to three hours a day, a new survey has found.

The typical working day is now 8.37am to 5.37pm, with employees working an average of 39 days’ overtime a year, according to the poll by Microsoft.

Half of the 1,000 office workers questioned said they started early and finished late because it was easier to get work done when the office was less busy, while one in five were driven to stay late by their desire to be successful (which has to be applauded, doesn’t it?).

While the results present a bleak picture of Britain’s long hour’s culture, researchers also found that workers are wasting more time than ever, spending almost three hours a day being ‘unproductive’ (freshbaked staff were obviously not questioned in this survey!).

The biggest single distraction, unsurprisingly, was surfing the internet, taking up 54 minutes of most workers’ time. Formatting documents and solving PC problems eat up 46 minutes, while gossiping occupies a further 35 minutes. Add in toilet breaks, tea drinking and daydreaming and three hours of each day disappear!

Now we can’t do much about the gossiping or daydreaming, but to save yourselves 46 minutes of the working day why not enrol on one of our European Computer Driving License (ECDL) courses which will solve all of your formatting and P.C problems instantly.

Another successful problem solved by freshbaked!
