Key appointment for freshbaked Group

freshbaked Business Services Group has appointed Brinley Groves as Strategic Development Manager.

Mr Groves, who hails from Cardiff and now lives in Marshfield, will be responsible for forming and developing strategic partnerships for the Group, as well as using his experience to further the fast growing company’s cross selling initiatives.

With over 30 years of experience in business, most recently working as a business development consultant alongside John and Alex Smart at property development specialists JR Smart, Mr Groves will work closely with the Group’s managing director Richard Matthews to help develop the company’s existing relationships and expand the already impressive portfolio of clients.

Chairman of the Welsh arm of the rugby charity Wooden Spoon, he brings with him considerable experience and contacts, having previously worked on key projects for the Millennium Stadium, Jewson Builders Merchants, British Steel, Rolls Royce and Anglian Windows.

He said: “freshbaked is a young company that recognises that you can grow organically by having good products and providing first class customer service. I have always felt that these are the secrets of success for most businesses and I am excited at the prospect of joining the dynamic Group. I hope to bring new ideas to the company and put the contacts and experience developed in my career to good use.”

Since it was established in 2004 by husband and wife team Richard and Kate Matthews, freshbaked has grown significantly from its original training roots. Securing a place in the Fast Growth 50 index for a second year running in 2009, the Group now encompasses training, recruitment, communications, PR and design.

freshbaked Group’s managing director Richard Matthews, said: “I am delighted to welcome Brinley to the team. He is a much liked and well respected business professional that will undoubtedly help us in our development plans. I am confident he will be instrumental in helping me drive the business forward and his appointment is a clear indication of our commitment to our ambitious growth plans.”

The strategic appointment comes a month after the freshbaked Group opened the doors of its Bristol office in Aztec West.

Mr Matthews continued: “Having a group of complementary businesses is a benefit to both freshbaked and its clients alike. As a business services provider, we understand the importance of cross promotional activity between divisions as well as the importance of adding value to our clients by offering them a variety of high quality and innovative services. Brinley will play a key role in helping to exploit this USP.”
