freshbaked Business Services group is celebrating the success of the 'Polo in the Castle' event which was held in Cardiff Castle at the weekend.
freshbaked PR part of the wider freshbaked group worked in partnership with event organisers Fusion to help make the day a resounding success.
freshbaked Business Services Group was also named a team sponsor and competed against three other business in a bid to be crowned the winning team.
Usually recognised as the ‘Sport of Kings’, businesses and members of the public from across Cardiff and the surrounding areas congregated in the historic grounds of Cardiff Castle to enjoy a day of noble sport which dates back over 1400 years.
Spectators enjoyed three fast and furious matches between four teams who battled it out in an attempt to win the inaugural ‘Polo in the Castle Cup.’
Former Miss Wales and Gladiator star Amy Guy took part in the event along with BBC news reader Jayne James, Wales’ only professional polo player Diana Abuzaid and former Great Britain Captain Jason Dixon who captained the freshbaked team.
The day was deemed a great success by CEO of freshbaked business service group, Richard Matthews. Mr Matthews said: “The day was a fantastic success for all involved. It was the first time a polo match has ever been held inside the castle grounds and we were delighted to not only be an event partner but also a team sponsor, helping to support the event through and help to raise much needed funds for such an important cause.”
Freshbaked along with Williams Lea, Crouch Jewellers and Juboraj sponsored the four teams in an attempt to raise money as much money as possible for the welsh based charity.
Continued Richard: “Although freshbaked didn’t win the ‘Polo in the Castle’ cup, we enjoyed a jam packed day of entertainment and three fast paced polo matched, whilst raising even more money for the Noah’s Ark Appeal."
Business process outsourcing company, Williams Lea battled it out against Crouch Jewellers to take home the ‘Polo in the Castle’ cup.
Added Richard: “We have had great feedback from clients who thoroughly enjoyed the day and we were so impressed with the event that we are already looking forward to next one. Hopefully team freshbaked will win next year and we will get to take home the all important inaugural ‘Polo in the Castle’ cup.”
With 100 per cent of the profits made on ticket sales going to the Noah’s Ark Appeal, Polo in the Castle is one of several key events in the charity’s 10th anniversary celebrations as it looks to raise a further £7m to equip and complete the second phase of the hospital.
