Business services group named in Wales Fast Growth 50 Index

Business services group, freshbaked, has secured a place in the Fast Growth index for a second year running.

Having grown steadily since it was established in 2004 freshbaked has been ranked 20th in the prestigious listings beating its 21st place in 2008 after a 122.38 per cent growth between 2006-2008.

Originally set up as a training provider by husband and wife team, Richard and Kate Matthews, a group structure was implemented in 2006 allowing freshbaked to diversify into different fields.

The Group now encompasses training, recruitment, communications, PR and design through seven different divisions - freshbaked Training, freshbaked Corporate, freshbaked Business, freshbaked Communications, freshbaked PR, freshbaked People and limegreentangerine.

Richard Matthews, group managing director says: “Since launching five years ago, the company has worked hard to grow from a training company to a leading business services group.  To be named in the prestigious list for a second year running is a fantastic achievement for the business and a testament to our hardworking team of talented staff.
“Despite the economic downturn, we have performed extremely well over the last year through innovating and adapting our offering to meeting the differing business needs out there. We have expanded the business into the south west of England and launched another new division - freshbaked People – to complement our existing offering. With strong foundations in place for future growth and the support of a new chairman and FD we are confident that we will make more of an impression on the UK market and continue to grow year on year.”

Now in its eleventh year, the Fast Growth 50 was established by professor Dylan Jones- Evans to recognise the development of growth in the Welsh economy through annually highlighting the fifty fastest growing companies within the welsh business community.

Originally a one off project to give Welsh-based firms the profile they deserved in an era of large inward investments, FG50 has transformed into a regular fixture in the Welsh business calendar, with increasing numbers of Welsh businesses continuing to enter year on year.
Professor Dylan Jones-Evans, creator of the Wales Fast Growth 50 project, said that these firms were beacons of hope to the Welsh business community during a time of recession.

“I am delighted that freshbaked is on this year’s Fast Growth 50 list, as being recognised as one of the fifty fastest growing firms out of a Welsh business population of 200,000 is something which the company should be extremely proud of.  All the Fast Growth 50 companies are a credit to themselves and to the Welsh nation and one can only hope that they act as an inspiration to all those in business, and thinking of starting a business, to help get the Welsh economy growing again”.
