freshbaked PR shortlisted for two Fresh PR Awards
Hot on the heels of scooping 'Outstanding Small PR Consultancy of the Year' at the annual Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) Wales PRide awards, freshbaked PR has again been shortlisted for more awards in this year's Fresh PR Awards 2010.
The only Welsh PR agency to be shortlisted for these prestigious awards, the Cardiff-based agency is up for ‘Freshest Small PR Team’, while the agency’s Account Director, Lyndsey Jenkins, is shortlisted for ‘Freshest Young PR Professional’.
The Awards, which celebrate creativity and talent in the PR and communications industry, take place annually and involve agencies from across the whole of the UK.
Set up in May 2008, the boutique agency, which was praised by the CIPR PRide awards as being a ‘breath of fresh air in the Welsh marketplace’, has quickly grown its presence in south Wales employing five team members from its headquarters in The Maltings. Working with over 30 businesses in south Wales, highlights in the past year include landing the PR account for the launch of Wales’s first Radisson Blu Hotel in Cardiff after a competitive pitch and securing the PR account for Wales’ only ice hockey team the Cardiff Devils.
Jon Hollins, managing Director of freshbaked PR said: “To be the only agency in Wales shortlisted for these highly sought after awards is a fantastic achievement, particularly as we’re relatively new in the marketplace. At freshbaked PR our company mantra is ‘make a statement’ and it is great that our creative approach to PR is being recognized by our industry peers.
“Despite being challenging, 2009 was an enormously successful year for freshbaked PR as we cemented our position in the Welsh PR marketplace and to be now be acknowledged nationally in this way is enhancing our reputation as one of the most dynamic and innovative PR agencies in Wales, and indeed, in the UK.”
Account Director, Lyndsey Jenkins, 27, commented on her achievement in being shortlisted for ‘Fresh Young PR Professional’, she said: “In the past year, not only have I been successful in progressing my own career, but I have played a pivotal role in freshbaked PR’s first year as a business, and being shortlisted for this award is a tribute to not only my contribution but to the achievements of the team as a whole. We have grown and developed enormously since we were set up and I am proud to have been a part of this success from day one.”
Judged by an independent panel, chaired this year by British PR agent and author Mark Borkowski, the Fresh PR Awards final ceremony will take place on 4th March 2010 at the Hilton Hotel in Manchester.
