Triple celebrations for renewable energy specialist
Specialist renewable energy company Natural Power Wales is celebrating its first anniversary with its biggest contract to date and the accomplishment of BRE accreditation.
The Barry-based company that is part of the COS Group has secured a contract to supply solar panels to 19 commercial units in London. Recognised as a premier installer of choice, Natural Power Wales will be providing solar thermal, along with a condensing boiler, to heat the units’ hot water.
In order to offer a more comprehensive service and enable its customers to take advantage of government grants through the low carbon building programme, Natural Power Wales has also become accredited by the BRE (Building Research Establishment). As one of only a handful of companies to be certified under the scheme, Natural Power Wales had to undergo a full assessment of its company installations, processes and procedures to achieve this official recognition.
Lloyd Reed, technical director of Natural Power Wales, says: “More and more companies are showing a commitment to tackling climate change and this means that our business is going from strength to strength. Since establishing last year, not only have we completed a number of high profile projects in Wales but we have branched out over the border working on a number of schemes in London.
“Achieving BRE accreditation is a big step for us as we aim to become Wales’ leading provider of renewable energy solutions as we’ll now be able to offer grants to customers to part cover installation costs.”
Natural Power Wales was set up last year to help businesses meet their requirements in tackling the issue of going green by designing and installing renewable energy solutions, including solar thermal systems, rainwater harvesting, underfloor heating, ground source pumps, and air to water heat pumps.
Since then, the company has helped organisations such as Nantgarw Arts Centre and the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds in Newport to cut their carbon dioxide emissions while producing considerable amounts of energy.
