Children set to climb high this half term

Boulders Indoor Climbing Centre in Cardiff is encouraging children to get active this half term by hosting a series of climbing events.

Running every week day of the half term holidays (26th – 30th October), the courses will give kids of all climbing abilities the chance to climb, boulder, high swing and abseil in one the UK’s largest indoor climbing centre.

For those that are new to climbing, the centre is running ‘learn to climb’ courses throughout the week where no experience is necessary, while for those that have a bit of experience under their harnesses can join in with a more advanced activity week.

Paul Walters, Senior Instructor at Boulders said: “Our events during October half term will offer parents an ideal way to keep the kids occupied. The activity days that we run in the school holidays are always popular as they’re a bit different from the norm and we’re confident that this half term it will be no different.”

The world class climbing and fitness centre is also giving youngsters who are already National Indoor Climbing Achievement Scheme (NICAS) level 1 qualified the chance to become NICAS levels 2 and 3 accredited. Youngsters will complete a series of climbs across the 2,000 square metres of climbing walls to develop more advanced techniques and boost performance.

Continued Paul: “This activity week will allow children to learn new skills, meet new friends and have fun in a safe environment. We are also running early drop off and late pick up clubs to meet the needs of working parents who struggle with childcare. Overall the week is set to be jammed packed full of activities and undoubtedly will be well attended.”
