Cardiff designer looks across the bridge for expansion

Wales-based designer and silversmith Karen Dell'Armi has expanded her contemporary jewellery business across the bridge, by forging links with a number of high profile UK-based galleries.

Karen Dellarmi, who established Karen Dell’Armi Contemporary Jewellery in 2007, has announced the plans to expand the business into England and Scotland, following a successful two years of growing the business in Wales.
 

Dell’Armi, who already features in galleries across Wales, has now been invited to exhibit her work in 11 additional galleries from the north of Britain in the Shetland Isles, down to the south in Truro, Cornwall.
 
2010 will see the designer’s Serenity Range feature in galleries including The Biscuit Factory in Newcastle Upon Tyne, SEED in Frome, Brass Monkeys in Brighton, the Debbie Bryan Studio & Shop in Nottingham and Katerina's Jewellery Gallery in Horsham, Surrey.
 
The Cardiff-based designer, who established the business having left behind a successful career in marketing, has also been invited to exhibit her pieces at the British Craft Trade Fair in Harrogate, as well as being nominated for a national, Craft &Design Selected Award 2010, for her work with precious metals.
 
Commenting on the business’s expansion, Dell’Armi said: “2010 has been such a fantastic year for me so far. My work has been so well received across Wales and I am extremely thankful for this. Now to have been invited to feature in various galleries across the UK is a great privilege and I hope to strengthen my presence in England and Scotland over the next couple of years, before looking to develop this further through expanding my offerings internationally.”
 
Having recently returned from a charity climb to Mount Kilimanjaro as part of the ‘Welsh Women Walking’ group, Dell’Armi hopes to launch her new range inspired by the trip, later in 2010.
