Polo in the Castle secures sponsors
Four companies have been announced as the team sponsors for this year's Polo in the Castle event as organisers confirm that the corporate hospitality tent has sold out with businesses from across south Wales booking to attend the day.
Williams Lea, Crouch Jewellers, Freshbaked Business Services Group and Juboraj are sponsoring the four teams that will be competing against one another at the inaugural charity match that is being held in Cardiff Castle on Sunday 27th June in aid of the Noah’s Ark appeal.
The four teams that will compete for the Polo in the Castle Cup are made up of professional polo players and four team captains including former Miss Wales beauty Amy Guy.
Organiser Victoria Ward, managing director of Fusion said: “We are delighted at the support we are receiving from everyone that has got behind this event particularly our sponsors and key partners such as the Cameo Club. I have been amazed at the speed of which the event is selling. We are confident that it will be a sensational event and one which will become a highlight in the calendars of the posh frock brigade and families alike for years to come.”
With 100 per cent of the profits made on ticket sales going to the Noah’s Ark Appeal, Polo in the Castle is a key event in the charity’s 10th anniversary celebrations as it looks to raise a further £7m to equip and complete the second phase of the hospital.
Miles Toulson-Clarke, a Director of business process outsourcing company, Williams Lea said: “Williams Lea is delighted to be named a team sponsor at this year’s Polo in the Castle. This is the first time a polo match has ever been held inside the castle grounds and we are pleased to be supporting an event which is raising money for such an important cause.”
Usually recognised as the ‘Sport of Kings’, Polo in the Castle is set to attract several thousand people from Cardiff and the surrounding areas. Spectators will be able to enjoy three fast and furious matches between four teams, who will battle it out to win the ‘Polo in the Castle Cup’.
Added Andrew Edwards of Crouch Jewellers: “Crouch is delighted to be sponsoring a team, polo shares many attributes with Crouch and is synonymous with tradition and glamour. We are delighted that we can play an active role in helping raise money for the appeal and support the fantastic work the Children’s Hospital does caring for critically ill children and their families.”
