Business development manager appointed to drive company forward

Barry-based Professional Driver Services (PDS) has appointed a new member of staff as the company looks to grow its presence in south Wales.

Lance Channon, 43 from Llantwit Fardre has been appointed as a business development manager for the driver training company, having previously worked for international company Retec.

Lance brings with him nearly a decade of business development experience. In his new role Lance will be responsible for expanding the company’s existing client base and tapping into new sectors, in addition to building and maintaining relationships with existing clients.

On his appointment, Lance said: “PDS is a well respected driver training company. Since launching eight years ago the company has built up an excellent reputation in South Wales. I am thrilled to be joining the company and I am looking forward to using my knowledge to help grow the company’s offering and developing the business further.”

Have recently marked its end of financial year with record turnover and a significant contract win with the South Wales Police, PDS has built up a strong reputation delivering the National Driver Improvement Scheme (NDIS), National Speed Awareness Scheme (NSAS) and RIDE in the UK both locally and nationally.

On Lance’s appointment to the team, director Kath Bevan said: “I am pleased to welcome Lance on board. After the success of last year we are looking forward to taking the company to the next level.
