Changing the way we do business and the business we do
The South Wales Chamber of Commerce will be holding its rescheduled Business Breakfast with Stephen Hester, Chief Executive of RBS, on Thursday 15th July at the Hilton Cardiff.
The talk and breakfast was postponed earlier in the year when the keynote speaker was left stranded in Hong Kong as a result of the volcanic ash cloud. The topic for the breakfast, “Changing the way we do business and the business we do”, is certainly timely given the changing economic conditions for both the private and public sector in Wales.
Speaker Stephen Hester was appointed to the Board of the Royal Bank of Scotland Group on 1st October 2008, and to the position of Group Chief Executive on 21st November 2008. He was chief executive of The British Land Company PLC. He was previously chief operating officer of Abbey National plc and prior to that he held positions with Credit Suisse First Boston including chief financial officer, head of fixed income and co-Head of European Investment Banking. In February 2008, he was appointed non-executive deputy chairman of Northern Rock PLC, a position he relinquished on 1 October 2008. He is also a trustee of The Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew Foundation.
