Fox snaps up training grant
Fox Moving and Storage has trained over 60 members of staff as a result of Welsh Assembly Government Funding.
Fox Moving and Storage, which is headquartered in Cwmbran and has branches across the UK, has received government funding in order to train its staff in sales techniques and skills courses.
The grant is part of the ProAct scheme which is a financial support package designed to help viable businesses in Wales up-skill staff in readiness for the upturn.
The new skills will be put to use within the business’s driving, packing and sales divisions in a bid to continually improve customer experience and equip staff with various transferable skills.
Lesley Griffiths, Deputy Minister for Science, Innovation and Skills, said:
“ProAct is helping companies throughout Wales invest in their workforce, which is more important than ever in these challenging conditions. It is helping companies to become more competitive and ensure they will be in a position to take advantage of new opportunities as the economy improves. To date ProAct has supported more than 10,000 people in Wales to remain in employment and gain new or improved skills which in turn has brought significant benefits to the businesses involved. I wish Fox Moving and Storage well as they upskill their workforce”
Paul Fox managing director of Fox Moving and Storage commented: “We think it essential to train our staff to the highest standards and hope this reflects in our customer service. We were very pleased and encouraged to receive the grant from the Welsh Assembly Government and as a result over 60 members of staff across various branches in Wales are now fully equipped to deal with a variety of tasks. These initiatives and grants are vitally important to the development of businesses in Wales. As we look to compete on a national and European basis, we need to make sure our skills are a league above of that of our competitors across the country. It also goes some way to building team moral and developing individual targets and goals within the departments.”
