Promotions bolster tax team at ktsowensthomas
One of Wales' leading accountancy firms has strengthened its tax team with the promotion of two of its rising stars.
Cardiff and Aberdare-based ktsowensthomas has promoted Alistair McDonald and Kate Moore to senior tax manager and tax manager respectively.
Alistair, 32, from Cardiff joined the firm 18 months ago after working in Bristol for Smith & Williamson and then for PricewaterhouseCoopers in Cardiff. A Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Adviser, Alistair is responsible for the management of a complex portfolio of tax compliance clients providing support on related tax advisory issues.
Kate, 27, from Cardiff is a chartered tax advisor who joined the firm three years ago from Grant Thornton. A member of the Association of Tax Technicians, Kate specialises in advising owner managed businesses on both complex corporate and personal tax situations.
David Owens, managing director of ktsowensthomas, says: “These promotions are testament to the firm’s commitment to nurturing talent from within and reflects our long term strategy of attracting and retaining the most talented and committed people within our profession.
“Alastair and Kate, along with several other members of staff, have received extensive leadership and management training as part of the firm’s succession planning strategy to ensure continuity for our clients and we’re confident that they will both play a very important role in the firm’s continued success.”
Adds Patrick Powell, who leads the tax team at ktsowensthomas: “Tax is an ever evolving and challenging area of accountancy and our clients are increasingly looking for innovation and efficiency in our service offering. Both Alastair and Kate are talented individuals who are well placed to meet the growing needs of our clients and to lead the team forward in continually improving our service offering.”
