Welsh IFA make significant promotions to board

Alchemy Wealth Management has made two significant promotions on its board as it looks to further grow its market share in south Wales.

Drewe Lacey, founder and former managing director of Alchemy Wealth Management will now sit on the board of Portland Financial Management Group, in addition to taking on the role of executive chairman at the Chepstow-based firm.

Former director, Richard Edwards has been promoted to managing director and will head up the firm of independent financial advisors, overseeing the company’s future growth plans.  The promotions follow the recent acquisition of the company by leading financial firm, Portland Financial Management Group.

Executive Chairman, Drewe Lacey said: “These promotions are a testament to our commitment of concentrating on further growing our market share to become the major IFA in south Wales. Having headed up Alchemy Wealth Management for nearly the last decade I am delighted to take on the role executive chairman in addition to sitting on the board of Portland Financial Management Group.

Originally founded as ‘Drewe Lacey Financial Planning Ltd, the company was rebranded in April 2003 to ‘Alchemy Wealth Management Ltd’ when the company merged with Bridgend-based practice 'Alchemy' headed up by Richard Edwards. 

On his new role, managing director Richard Edwards said: “I am thrilled to be taking up the position of managing director at Alchemy Wealth Management.
