Office expansion for Cardiff financial advisers

Office expansion for Cardiff financial advisers

A firm of independent financial advisers has expanded its Cardiff premises to aid its continued growth plans.

Cyncoed-based Mulberry Wealth Management has taken over an adjoining property on Cyncoed Road increasing its office space to 1,800 sq ft.

The expansion comes on the back of Mulberry's formation in 2009 following the merger of three well established financial planning practices. The most recent merger, following the acquisition of Morris Brown Ltd, has seen staff numbers increase from 8 to 13.

With all staff now under one roof, the company's three directors Philip Payne, Richard Bevington and Mark Morris, aim to push forward with expansion plans to grow the company's market share ahead of the revolutionary change in the financial services industry, set for the end of 2012, that is likely to see many sole practitioners sell up or retire from the industry.

Philip Payne, director at Mulberry, said: "Since our formation in 2009 following the acquisitions of three established IFA practices, we have worked hard to bed down the clients of these firms, while continuing to grow the firm and service our existing clients. It was essential for us to have everyone and everything under one roof, hence the decision to take over the adjoining property to us.

"The expansion of office space accommodates our increased staff numbers and stands us in good stead for our continued growth plans." From 2012, the Financial Services Authority (FSA) is demanding all Financial Adviser firms achieve Certified Status, offering a fee-based advice model, with a clearly defined client service offering.

Continued Mr Payne: "Mulberry endorses all these objectives and already offers a financial advice model that embraces the FSA vision, but we want to go above and beyond this minimum requirement and progress with our own initiatives and raise standards of service beyond expectations."

Regulated by the Financial Services Authority, Mulberry Wealth Management specialises in advising private and corporate clients on pensions, investments, protection and mortgages.
