Promoting Philanthropy in Wales
Following the recent launch of the Cardiff Community Endowment Fund, a Welsh philanthropic organisation has held a Philanthropy Reception in Cardiff to support professional advisors in offering philanthropy advice to their clients.</
The Community Foundation in Wales held the drinks reception at the Cardiff and County Club in association with Cheviot Asset Management which sponsored the evening. Guests included Foundation President Sir Norman Lloyd-Edwards, Anthony Lewis, David Stephens and partners from numerous south Wales solicitors and accountancy firms.
Liza Kellett, Chief Executive of the Community Foundation in Wales said,In this economic climate our work is more important than ever. Our clients want to know that their charitable giving is being directed in line with their wishes, following robust due diligence and monitoring protocols. They appreciate the Foundation's role as a trusted advisor in providing services of philanthropy advice, grants management and Fund investment. They also want to know that, along with the community of philanthropists with which we work, their giving is making a lasting difference.
Alun Evans, Cheviot Asset Management said,We are very proud to be associated with the Community Foundation in Wales. It is a marvellous conduit for philanthropy, allowing our clients to be as much, or as little, involved as they wish, and benefiting a range of charities and community groups in Wales. The Foundation is perfectly placed to act as trusted advisors to our clients, ensuring that their money remains in the Principality.
In the past year, The Community Foundation in Wales has been responsible for distributing over £1.6 million worth of grants to communities in Wales and its endowment has risen to over £5.5 million, thus ensuring future generations will stand to benefit from the goodwill of today's philanthropists.
