Coaching

Although a 2005 survey by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development reported that 90% of UK organisations use coaching to support staff development, definitions can be broad and misleading.

freshbaked™ corporate’s approach to coaching is not to provide experts who will provide a universal solution, nor caring supporters who will take responsibility for every problem.

We see coaching as a conversation about personal development that enables work concerns, attitude, behaviour, aspirations and expectations can be addressed, and which leaves the client better prepared to solve future problems. The intention must be to equip the individual for sustain their own future development and performance.

Our Approach

We believe that coaching is most effective where coaches work with the individual’s agenda to mobilise their energy and capabilities within the context of the organisation’s interests.

We recognise that successful outcomes depend on establishing:

  • clearly agreed objectives
  • excellent relationships between all stakeholders
  • clear, open communications (while respecting client confidentiality)
  • opportunities for regular evaluation of the coaching process and its outcomes.

Avoiding the potential extremes of instruction or ‘casual chat’, our coaching approach for individuals – and organisations – is always:

  • structured
  • flexible
  • facilitated
  • supportive
  • challenging
  • set in the organisational context.

Throughout the dialogue, we recognise that we can learn as much from questions as we can from answers.
