Health and Safety Awareness in Production/ Manufacturing
Overview:
Health and Safety Awareness has become very much the focus for Employers. This course will provide you with knowledge and understanding of the legal framework surrounding your Health and Safety responsibilities, give you the tools to assist you in your working environment, identifying risks and hazards and how to monitor your own environment.
Objectives:
By the end of the course delegates will be able to:
- Understand their role and responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
- Be trained in Manual Handling techniques under the Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992.
- Understand the 5 steps to Risk Assessment under the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999.
- Identify risks and hazards and how to complete a risk assessment.
Topics covered:
- Understanding the relationship of employee and employer under Health and Safety.
- The procedures for Manual Handling and Risk Assessment.
- The benefits of Health and Safety awareness and looking after your own Health and Safety.
- Identifying specialist sources of information with regard to Health and Safety.
- Following up actions from Risk Assessment.
- Case studies will be used to help build confidence.
