Renewable energy company power ahead with new appointment
Paul Rees, 24, from Newport joins the company as a mechanical engineer having previously worked as a design engineer for Newport City Council.
Currently combining studying for a BEng honours degree in building services and engineering with his new role , Paul will be responsible for designing renewable energy solutions including underfloor heating, solar thermal systems, rainwater harvesting and air to water heat pumps for clients.
On his appointment, Paul said: “Natural Power Wales has only been established for a year however it is already making a huge impression in the South Wales market place and I’m therefore naturally delighted to be joining at such an exciting time. They are offering me fantastic opportunities to gain more experience in the industry while allowing me to study at the same time.”
Having recently gained BRE (Building Research Establishment) accreditation, the company will now be able to offer a more comprehensive service and enable its customers to take advantage of government grants through the low carbon building programme.
Technical Director, Lloyd Reed said: “Paul’s appointment comes at a very important time for us, with so many companies realising the importance of cutting fuel costs and harmful emissions, the number of businesses turning to renewable energy solutions has risen significantly in the last few months.
“Paul has a solid background in engineering having gained a number of industry qualifications and was recently honoured at the CIBSE Annual Dinner with an award for achieving the highest marks in the region for his HNC Building Services Engineering course. He will undoubtedly be an asset to our growing team and we welcome him on board.”
Natural Power Wales was set up last year with the aim of helping businesses in south Wales and the surrounding areas cut their carbon dioxide emissions while producing considerable amounts of energy.
