Level 3 Award in First Line Management

Overview:

The Award in First Line Management is designed to give an introduction of the skills and knowledge that are needed by the first line manager.

This qualification is suitable for individuals who are either new to the role of first line management or who are currently first line managers who would like to develop their skills.

 

Objectives:

The Award consists of an induction, one mandatory unit with a credit value of 2 and selected optional units with a minimum credit value of 3.

The whole programme will take a minimum of 34 hours, plus time for assessment.

Structure and Content

  • Minimum of 5 credits
  • Induction - one hour
  • Tutorial support - two hours
  • One mandatory unit, credit value of 2
  • Selected optional unit(s) with a minimum total credit value of 3

Assessment

  • Mandatory unit is assessed through a work based assignment
  • Dependent on the optional units undertaken, these are assessed through a choice of: work based assingments, reflective reviews, knowledge reviews, oral presentations, role-play scenarios or written reports
